Michael Sinelnikoff posted this on December 5, at the Xenite Forums message board for The Lost World: "I heard from a journalist who got a reply to an inquiry addressed to Darryl Sheen's office (Lost World Producer) that there are no plans to bring Summerlee back. Thought you'd want to know. So let me thank you all once more for all your support - believe me, it hasn't been wasted: I shall remember it as long as I live. Michael S."
I can only say that the producers are very aware of how much the fans want Michael to reprise his role as Summerlee, and if there is any chance to bring him back, I'm sure they will. Thank you all for your help ~ Karen

The producers of The Lost World decided to do away with the character of Professor Summerlee (Michael Sinelnikoff) at the end of Season One. Mr. Sinelnikoff found out about this at the same time we did ~ via the Xenite message board ~ they didn't even have the decency to tell him personally! Although Mr. Sinelnikoff has been very gracious about his exclusion from the series at this point, we are still determined to go on, unless one of three things happen: one, Michael Sinelnikoff asks us to stop, two, a "body"is found ~ Sinelnikoff didn't film anything, so they'd have to use a body double ~ or, three, Summerlee/Sinelnikoff is put back where he belongs!. I am including the information needed for you to send your protests of this ludicrous action, via e-mail, fax, and snail mail to to the new producers of TLW, Coote/Hayes, concerned affiliates, and sponsors. I will try to include as much of that contact information here, so you can make your opinion heard as an individual. We want Michael Sinelnikoff back as Professor Summerlee in Season 3. If the people that put The Lost World out want us to watch their product, they need to listen to what we want to see ~ the fans should be heard, and I intend to see that we get a reponse regarding this. Thank you for your help and cooperation.

Michael Sinelnikoff is an excellent actor whose protrayal of Summerlee is an example of true class. Mr. Sinelnikoff is so good in this role that he also played it in the 1998 USA Network movie version of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Lost World (which is totally separate from this television series and the two-hour movie that was it's pilot). He has had a long and distinguished career, and does not deserve this shabby treatment. As for the character of Summerlee itself, it is integral to this program. Professor Arthur Summerlee is a character first introduced in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Lost World classic novel, and is as major a component of this story as Challenger, Roxton or Malone. Arthur Summerlee started out as the skeptic and counterpart to Challenger, who quickly became a believer after he saw an actual dinosaur. His knowledge of botany and medical expertise has proved invaluable time after time to everyone lost on the plateau with him. He has shown himself to be a loyal friend and a true gentleman, two characteristics sadly lacking in this world of ours and truly needed as a model to others. Also, one of the facts the powers that be is continuing to ignore is that the fans want him to stay in The Lost World. It is not necessary to disrupt the interesting balance of characters currently inhabiting the treehouse. It would seem to be a foolish act to remove Arthur Summerlee, and Michael Sinelnikoff, from the program. To quote Steven Faust: "the product {The Lost World} isn't likely to be on the market long if the fans don't support it. The producers are not taking a Gene Roddenberry view toward the show which will influence it's success in the long run, and releasing [Mr. Sinelnikoff] was about as intelligent as it would have been to release Star Trek's Leonard Nimoy. It's not logical or good business." We want Summerlee back.

Please be polite. Try to include these basic facts: you are a fan of TLW, without whom there is no show, and you want Michael Sinelnikoff returned to the series as Summerlee.
The chemistry between the six original cast members in the first season was great! (Personally, I cannot imagine the show without all the cast members, and I don't think it's been the same since then.) If you know people that watch the show, but aren't online, please ask them to participate as well.
